In der Kaulsdorf Residency haben wir die queer-religiöse Performance „Binärtortur“ verfilmt, die queer theory und Politik mit religiösen und künstlerisch-performativen Formen verbindet. Queerer Schmerz und Scham sollen umgewandelt werden in Solidarität mit allen, die auch eine „minoritäre Position zur Macht besitzen“ (Cathy J. Cohen). Eine Priestx wird aus den eigenen Coming out Erfahrungen initiiert und solidarisiert sich, predigt gegen die aktuelle deutsche Kulturpolitik, leistet in der Binärtortur Abbitte für die Reproduktion binärer Denkmodelle und bittet queere Heiligx am Altar um Hilfe. In einem Schöpfungslob wird die durch und durch queere Schöpfung gepriesen, das Altarbild wird bei einer Prozession durch den Garten getragen, und die Priestx erhält den Ruf, die eigene Identität immer weiter zu destabilisieren. Die Kultgewänder sind eine Überarbeitung der Basiskostüme von Marc Aschenbrenner und Eva Carbó Trill durch Hauke Heumann und Ymai Rivera und Teile des Partiturkostüms von Sichi Li. Das Altarbild wird von Christ Mukenge und Lydia Schellhammer angefertigt, die in ihrer Praxis des gemeinsamen Malens als Duo versuchen, die Binarität ihrer Subjekte überwinden. Außerdem treten Lotte Dohmen und Camille O in Erscheinung, die musikalisch göttliche Stimmen von außen verkörpern. Die elektronische Musik ist ein Remix von Antje Meichsner des sexpositiven Kirchenlieds „Körperlich/Göttlich“, das im Rahmen der Arbeit an „Binärtortur“ entstanden ist. Gefilmt hat Knut Klaßen. At the Kaulsdorf Residency, we filmed the queer-religious performance “Binärtortur,” which combines queer theory and politics with religious and artistic-performative forms. The aim is to transform queer pain and shame into solidarity with all those who also “occupy a minority position in relation to power” (Cathy J. Cohen). A priestx is initiated through her own coming-out experiences and stands in solidarity, preaches against current German cultural policy, offers atonement in “Binärtortur” for the reproduction of binary thought patterns, and asks queer saintxs at the altar for help. In a hymn of praise to creation, the thoroughly queer creation is extolled; the altarpiece is carried in a procession through the garden; and the priestx is called upon to continually destabilize their own identity. The ritual garments are a reworking of the base costumes by Marc Aschenbrenner and Eva Carbó Trill, adapted by Hauke Heumann and Ymai Rivera, and include elements of the score costume by Sichi Li. The altarpiece is created by Christ Mukenge and Lydia Schellhammer, who, in their practice of collaborative painting as a duo, seek to overcome the binary nature of their subjects. Also appearing are Lotte Dohmen and Camille O, who musically embody divine voices from outside. The electronic music snippets are a remix by Antje Meichsner of the sex-positive hymn “Körperlich/Göttlich,” which was created as part of the work on “Binärtortur.” Filmed by Knut Klaßen.
